In a bid to ensure that all its business customers get seamless connectivity in every part of the world, AT&T has teamed up with Globecomm, a leading global solutions integrator and data management company. AT&T will now launch a new integrated service under which it will offer businesses both cellular and satellite services for managing IoT devices, networks and applications.
“We’ve teamed up with Globecomm, a leading global solutions integrator and data management company, to launch a new service that allows satellite connectivity to work seamlessly with our cellular network. That means businesses no longer need to purchase their cellular and satellite services separately. We’re delivering one integrated solution for managing IoT devices, networks and applications,” AT&T said in a statement.
Using this new AT&T service, businesses and government customers, who often face the challenge of pulling data from devices in remote areas, can keep track of their assets. This will also save them from the pain of purchasing cellular and satellite services separately.
While announcing this new service, Mike Troiano, vice president, AT&T IoT Solutions said, “Our customers now have a flexible, reliable and highly secure service to monitor their assets nearly anywhere. They don’t have to choose one connectivity solution over the other — they can have the full package.”
Globecomm’s Vice President-Product and Corporate Strategy, Jon Kirchner also confirmed the news. He said, “We’re working with AT&T to offer seamless connectivity over a single platform. We’re helping businesses collect and analyze critical information wherever their assets are — to generate operational improvements and hard ROI — on land or at sea.”
